NINE Bar Launched In Style

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle's newest sports bar and lounge, NINE, was officially launched with a star-studded VIP event on Thursday night.

Magpies aces Shola Ameobi, Steven Taylor and Rob Elliot attended, along with Newcastle Falcons player Chris York, with local businessmen and women invited along to sample the new venue, which opened its doors for the first time last month, and meet the stars.

The bar was launched following the refurbishment of Shearer's and celebrates the fine history of one of the most famous shirt numbers in football: the Newcastle United number nine.

"It's definitely changed a lot," said long-serving defender Taylor. "I remember coming here when it was Shearer's Bar and it looks really good now - and there are plenty of screens for Newcastle fans to watch Newcastle winning."

Goalkeeper Elliot added: "It's really nice. As a footballer I don't have too many nights out but hopefully I might get a couple here during the season."

NINE offers an extensive cocktail list, high quality food and an outdoor terrace. All of the biggest sporting fixtures will be shown daily on large screens throughout the bar and all of United's home games will be shown live. The bar will be open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 12am on Friday and Saturday.

Food is served from 10am until 10pm and a children's menu is in operation until 7pm. Food offers will be running daily and can be found by clicking here. Drinks offers will also be in place, including branded doubles for £3.20 and cocktail jugs from £9.95.

Breakfast and Costa coffee will be served in NINE, and all hot drinks are available for take away. Full information regarding NINE, including the latest offers and drinks & food menus, can be found by clicking here.
