Newcastle United youngster James Tavernier has joined League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan.
The 21-year-old right-sided defender, who can play at either full-back or centre-half, will remain at New Meadow until Sunday, 1st September.
Tavernier joined the Magpies at the age of 15 and came through the Club's Academy to make his first team bow in the League Cup in September 2009, before enjoying successful loan spells at Gateshead, Carlisle, Sheffield Wednesday and Milton Keynes Dons in recent seasons.
He made eight appearances for Newcastle's first team last term across the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.
