Colo's Back

Written by Newcastle Utd

Fabricio Coloccini has returned to training with Newcastle along with the rest of the Club's internationals

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Captain Fabricio Coloccini has reported back for pre-season training along with Newcastle United's other international stars.

The Argentine ace was given extra time off this summer after being called up for his country, while Papiss Cisse, Gael Bigirimana, Curtis Good, Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote and Mathieu Debuchy were also granted additional leave.

But all are now back on Tyneside and are working to a training programme designed to quickly bring them back up to speed with the rest of their team-mates, who reported back earlier in the month.

Coloccini played in a friendly against Guatemala last month while Bigirimana and Good were both involved in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey with England and Australia respectively.

Debuchy and Cabaye were in action for France while Tiote boosted the Ivory Coast's World Cup qualifying campaign.

And while none of them are likely to figure in Tuesday night's friendly at Motherwell, they could come into contention for the upcoming trip to Portugal.
