By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Danny Simpson will join Queens Park Rangers when his Newcastle United contract expires at the end of the month.

The full-back has agreed a three-year deal at Loftus Road and will officially become a Rangers player on Monday, 1st July.

Simpson first arrived on Tyneside in August 2009 as a loan signing from Manchester United and quickly impressed at St. James' Park.

His spell was made permanent just five months later and the 26-year-old played a key role in the Magpies not only winning the Championship in 2010, but also helping to re-establish the Club in the Premier League.

Simpson made 138 appearances for Newcastle during four years in the North-East, scoring twice.
