Beardsley Seeking Double Success
Written by Newcastle Utd
Not only is Peter Beardsley working with Newcastle in Hong Kong but he's also playing in the Masters section of the International Soccer Sevens

Newcastle United's Football Development Manager Peter Beardsley is eyeing a double success at this year's Citibank Hong Kong Football Club International Soccer Sevens.
As well as working alongside Willie Donachie as the Magpies look to retain the title they won last year in the main competition, the former England international is playing in the Masters section for CLA Discovery Bay.
Several other ex-Premier League players including Teddy Sheringham, Darren Anderton and David Howells are also in the star-studded line-up, while another former Newcastle player - Ian Baird - is also involved meaning it is very much a case of 'Howay the Bay' out in Hong Kong.
The Masters tournament, for players aged 35 and older, runs alongside the main tournament and Beardsley rolled back the years in the opening match of the whole competition.
His magnificent cross allowed Anderton to score the only goal of the game as they overcame Hong Kong Football Club Chairman's Select on Friday night.
They then lost 2-1 to KFC Tokyo on Saturday morning but a win in their final group game against Eastern Salon Top Class should see them through to Sunday's knockout stages.
