John Carver and Steve Stone spent Easter Sunday in Paisley as they ran the rule over loan stars Conor Newton and Paul Dummett.
Newcastle's Assistant Manager and First-Team Coach were in the crowd as St. Mirren took on Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic in a game which was broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The Buddies drew 1-1 and the two Magpies youngsters, who have both made waves north of the border, once again impressed for Danny Lennon's Scottish League Cup winners.
Kris Commons gave the Hoops an early lead but that brought a strong response from the Saints as Dummett's lofted effort was well saved by ex-United goalkeeper Fraser Forster before Newton fired over from distance.
Victor Wanyama was then shown a straight red card in the 55th minute and St. Mirren made their numerical advantage count as Paul McGowan equalised with an 81st minute penalty. Dummett and Newton both played the whole game.
On Saturday, Sammy Ameobi was a 62nd minute substitute for Middlesbrough against Wolves.
However, the England under-21 man was unable to prevent Boro from slipping to a fourth successive defeat and an 11th loss in 14 matches as they were beaten 3-2 at Molineux.
