New Bar Is Just The Ticket

Just like Joe Harvey back in 1969, Newcastle fans will be able to toast successes in style at a new bar in a former ticket office at St. James' Park

A major transformation of the former Newcastle United ticket office will create the first new bar at the Club's St. James' Park stadium in nearly a decade.
Sodexo Prestige, which operates the catering and events at Newcastle United, is turning the ticket office at the South West corner of the ground into the 700-capacity Terrace Bar, which is due to open in time for the home Barclays Premier League clash with Fulham on Sunday, 7th April.
As well as creating 30 new jobs at the football club - bringing the number of catering and events staff working for the Magpies up to 700 - the £300,000 development will also give supporters an extra option on match days while providing a new space for parties and other informal social occasions, complementing existing event facilities.
Derek Llambias, Newcastle United's managing director, said: "The Terrace is a stylish new development at St. James' Park and one that we are particularly excited about.
"We wanted to create a lively venue for supporters to meet on match days before and after our games. It adds an important new dimension to the stadium and will improve the facilities that we already have in and around St. James'."
Colin Perkins, Sodexo Prestige regional account director, said: "This is the first new bar to be opened at St. James' Park in eight years.
"It will be somewhere that we believe fans will really enjoy using on match days and will also bring St. James' Park another venue for parties and events in a vibrant and contemporary setting."
The bar will be officially opened by members of the first team at a VIP event being held on Tuesday, 9th April. Look out for more details and a chance to win tickets on nufc.co.uk and the @NUFCOfficial Twitter account.
The Club's main Box Office is now located upstairs in the St. James' Park retail store, with a new match day box office in operation beneath the Milburn Stand ahead of every home fixture.
