Twelve Newcastle United players have received call-ups for international fixtures.

The Magpies will be represented across nine nations during the next week - England, Wales, Northern Ireland, France, Italy, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Switzerland and Slovakia.

Steven Taylor could make his senior England debut away at San Marino on Friday night in a World Cup qualifier.

The centre-back has been called-up following an injury to Chelsea's Gary Cahill and has previously appeared for his country at Under 16, Under 17, Under 20, Under 21 and B level.

French trio Yohan Cabaye, Moussa Sissoko and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could all feature in a Paris-based double-header for Les Bleus. First, they face Georgia on Friday night, before taking on reigning World and European champions Spain on Tuesday.

Also in World Cup qualifying ties, Cheick Tiote's Ivory Coast entertain Gambia, while Papiss Cisse will be hoping to fire Senegal to victory over Angola.

Magpies' left-back Davide Santon is handed a spot in the Italian Under 21 squad and will face Russia and Ukraine in a couple of home friendlies, and Adam Campbell is a late call-up for England Under 19s' clash against Turkey in Telford.

Shane Ferguson, currently on loan at Birmingham City, should add to his seven senior Northern Ireland caps when they take on Russia and Israel in a couple of World Cup qualifiers at Windsor Park, in Belfast.

January signing Kevin Mbabu is part of the Switzerland Under 18 party which will play away at Malta, while Lubomir Satka has a couple of fixtures for Slovakia Under 19s, and Alex Nicholson is a late addition to the Wales Under 21 squad.
