Loan Watch: Ameobi Impact Continues

Written by Newcastle Utd

Sammy Ameobi made another key contribution in his second appearance for Middlesbrough on Tuesday night

Sammy Ameobi continues to make his mark at Middlesbrough - but his side lost 2-1 at Huddersfield on Tuesday night.

The Newcastle loanee scored on his debut against Cardiff at the weekend, and although he didn't get on the scoresheet against the Terriers he created the opening goal of the game.

It was from his cross that Scott McDonald turned home to give his side the lead on 78 minutes, but the lead was short-lived as Alan Lee equalised with four minutes left and Daniel Ward score the winner in the dying seconds. Ameobi played the whole game.

Also playing 90 minutes was Shane Ferguson on what was his full debut for Birmingham against Blackpool. And after a heavy defeat at Hull last time out, they drew 1-1 at St. Andrew's.

Mehdi Abeid came off with an injury 40 minutes into St. Johnstone's 2-0 defeat to Hearts in the Scottish Premier League. The hosts were already leading 1-0 before adding another three minutes from time.

Curtis Good has now returned to Newcastle after his loan spell with Bradford, who drew 0-0 at Port Vale in League Two.
