Boss Pleased With Loan Moves

Alan Pardew believes loan moves for the likes of Sammy Ameobi and Shane Ferguson will be good for both them and the club

Thursday morning saw Shane Ferguson become the latest of Alan Pardew's youngsters to leave Newcastle on loan, and the Magpies manager believes United will reap the rewards next season.
Northern Ireland international Ferguson joined Birmingham on a short-term deal, following in the footsteps of Sammy Ameobi, who linked up with Middlesbrough earlier in the week.
The likes of Paul Dummett, Mehdi Abeid, Conor Newton, Michael Richardson, Bradden Inman and Curtis Good have also been farmed out to teams from the Scottish Premier League to the English League Two and Pardew reckons they will all benefit from the experience they're gaining.
Good played for Bradford in the Capital One Cup final last weekend while Dummett and Newton will be involved when St. Mirren take on Hearts in the Scottish League Cup final next month. Inman, meanwhile, has a Wembley date with Crewe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
Ferguson and Ameobi have both been regularly involved in the senior set-up at St. James' Park until the last few weeks and Pardew admitted: "I think one of the calls this year that we've perhaps got wrong is those younger players we felt could work in the first team and work to a good level.
"That probably hasn't proved correct but I'll never lose faith in the younger players we've got here.
"We just need to keep trying and working with them and that's one of the reasons they've gone out on loan, because they need to improve to play in the first team here.
"So we've sent out really and truly the cream of our young players, Ferguson and Sammy and hopefully (James) Tavernier shortly, and we might see a reward for that next year hopefully."
