Conor Newton put in a man of the match performance as St. Mirren recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Hearts on Wednesday night.
The midfielder, on loan with the Buddies until the end of the season, played the whole game alongside fellow Newcastle youngster Paul Dummett as a Paul McGowan penalty and Graham Carey scored the goals.
It was a result which saw the Saints climb above Hearts in the table and sets them up nicely for next month's Scottish League Cup final at Hampden Park, when they will again take on the Edinburgh side.
And Newton was chosen as the sponsors' man of the match in what was his eighth appearance for the club.
Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League, St. Johnstone drew 2-2 at Dundee despite leading twice and the home side being reduced to ten men. Mehdi Abeid played for 64 minutes.
Curtis Good wasn't involved in Bradford's 1-1 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two.
