Bradden Inman can look forward to a day out at Wembley in April after Crewe booked a place in the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - but only just.
Leading 3-0 from the first leg at the Ricoh Arena, Crewe lost 2-0 at home to Coventry in the second leg on Wednesday night but hung on to ensure that they will head to the national stadium on Saturday, 7th April.
Inman had scored twice in the first meeting two weeks ago and started again this time and for most of the night Crewe looked home and dry.
But Mark Ellis put through his own goal in the last minute before, 30 seconds later, Leon Clarke headed home a second to set up a nervy stoppage time period.
Seven extra minutes were played but Inman - who was booked - and his team-mates stood firm to spark joyous scenes.
Crewe will face Southend in the final.
