Maddison Completes Saints Move

Written by Newcastle Utd

Marcus Maddison has joined St. Johnstone following his departure from Newcastle earlier in the month

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

St. Johnstone have completed the signing of former Newcastle United youngster Marcus Maddison.

Durham-born winger Maddison was one of four teenagers to leave St. James' Park by mutual consent earlier this month, but has joined the Scottish Premier League side following a successful trial.

The 19-year-old, who scored three times in ten Barclays Under-21 Premier League appearances this season before his departure, has signed a deal until the end of the season.

Magpies midfielder Mehdi Abeid is on loan with the Perth outfit until the summer.
