Young midfielder Michael Richardson has joined League Two promotion chasers Gillingham on loan.
The 20-year-old, who has just returned from an ankle injury which had sidelined him since September, trained with the Gills on Thursday morning and will go into the squad for Saturday's home game against Dagenham and Redbridge.
It's the second loan move of the energetic schemer's United career - he spent time with Leyton Orient at the start of last term, scoring once in four appearances.
The former electrician joined the Magpies from Walker Central in the summer of 2010 after an impressive trial period and has been on the bench on several occasions in the Barclays Premier League, but still awaits his Newcastle debut.
Gillingham are currently in second place, one point behind leaders Port Vale.
