Mehdi Abeid made his first start for loan club St. Johnstone on Monday night, helping them to a 3-1 win away at Hibernian.
The 20-year-old, who will remain north of the border until the end of the season, was instrumental in the victory which saw the Saints leapfrog their opponents into fourth place in the Scottish Premier League.
Former QPR striker Rowan Vine struck twice in three minutes midway through the first half to give St. Johnstone a dream start, and it should have been even better when Abeid won a penalty on 33 minutes.
Racing on to a through ball, the midfielder was felled by Ryan McGivern, but Steven MacLean saw his spot-kick saved.
However, the result was finally put beyond any doubt early in the second half when Paddy Cregg made it three, with Leigh Griffiths netting a late consolation for Hibs with time running out.
