Train News For Saints And Stoke Games

Written by Newcastle Utd

Essential engineering work will affect train services on the East Coast main line for the Southampton and Stoke home games

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Supporters travelling to Newcastle's next two home games by train are being notified of essential engineering work on the East Coast main line.

This will affect services between Darlington and Durham for the matches against Southampton on Sunday, 24th February at 1.30pm and Stoke City on Saturday, 9th March at 3pm.

Network Rail will be carrying out the work on the line from lunchtime on Saturday to lunchtime on Sunday for both of these weekends, which will mean the direct route between Darlington and Newcastle via Durham will not be served by rail between these times (East Coast services are being diverted via the Durham Coast).

Replacement bus services will run between Darlington, Durham and Newcastle, with extended journey times and limited space on the bus services.
