He may have scored a second-half double which ultimately earned Newcastle a memorable 3-2 victory over Chelsea, but Moussa Sissoko refused to take all the plaudits himself.
With United trailing 2-1, the midfielder, who only arrived from Toulouse less than a fortnight ago, was on hand to sidefoot home a loose ball and drag them level.
And as the Premier League fixture got set to enter stoppage time, Sissoko exchanged passes with Davide Santon before drilling a low strike past Petr Cech to send 50,000 Geordies inside a sell-out St. James' Park wild.
That is now two goals and an assist for the French international in just two appearances in the black and white stripes, but he insists that back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and the Blues have been a group effort.
"I gave 100 per cent, the very best I could," Sissoko explained to nufcTV in this interview.
"I was signed to do that, to give everything, to fight from the first to the 90th minute - that's what I try to do.
"I'm very happy today but we can't forget that it was a team performance. The team worked together. I played well but it's a team effort.
"We came away with three points as a team and I hope we can continue to perform like that and continue to climb up the Premier League as high as possible."
It was a home debut for Sissoko and fellow countrymen Yoan Gouffran and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, and the midfielder admitted the level of support from the Tyneside faithful was even better than he had imagined.
"It was a fantastic afternoon," he said.
"Two goals and three points against Chelsea - a fantastic team - in front of a full-house, who supported us fantastically this afternoon. I couldn't be happier.
"I've never had so much encouragement and support. I always said I wanted to come to England to play in the Premier League and witness this sort of support.
"I'm delighted to be here at Newcastle. This is a great Club and I hope we can continue to have fantastic games like that and continue to do well."
