Davide Santon

Davide Santon is confident that victory over Reading on Saturday will finally kick-start Newcastle's season into life.

After 22 games of the Premier League campaign the Magpies find themselves just two points above the drop zone, although their tally doesn't tell the full story after a number of impressive - but fruitless - performances.

Italian full-back Santon has been ever-present in league action this term, and believes a maximum-point haul against the Royals can get United heading towards the safety of midtable.

"It is so important," Santon told nufc.co.uk about the fixture at St. James' Park.

"Reading at home? We cannot lose, we cannot draw, we just have to win.

"After we hopefully win that game, that is where our season starts.

"We still have a lot of games left where we can pick up good results. Our minds have to be only on win, win, win, and nothing else."

Tickets are still available for Saturday's fixture, with an adult seat starting from just £15. For more information, or to purchase one, click here
