Cheick Tiote and his Ivory Coast team-mates warmed up for the Africa Cup of Nations with a 4-2 win over Egypt on Monday night.
The Magpies midfielder started the friendly in Abu Dhabi and his side went behind to Mohamed Aboutrika's header before equalising through a Gervinho penalty.
Tiote then set up Lacina Traore to put the Elephants in front and Gervinho made it 3-1, but Gedo pulled another back for the Pharaohs.
However, Didier Ya Konan wrapped up an impressive win for the Ivorians, who kick off their cup campaign against Togo next Tuesday.
