SECOND HALF UPDATES
90+3mins: It's full-time and Newcastle have picked up a useful point at Carrow Road. Yohan Cabaye throws his shirt into the crowd as the players applaud the fans for their loud and loyal support and the rot is stopped for the Magpies.
90+2mins: Almost late heartbreak - substitute Bennett gets in a cross from the right, Holt rises at the far post and Pilkington comes within a whisker of forcing home but Newcastle survive.
90mins: There will be three minutes of stoppage time.
80mins: After Cabaye wins a corner, Marveaux floats it in and it reaches Coloccini at the far post. The skipper shoots on the turn and fires just over - so close from the Argentine.
77mins: Norwich introduce Elliott Bennett for Snodgrass, who has had an interesting battle with Davide Santon throughout this game. Today's attendance is 26,752.
76mins: Snodgrass gets down the right well and picks out Pilkington, who takes a touch and tries to slide the ball past Krul only for the Dutchman to make a vital stop to keep the ex-Huddersfield winger out.
68mins: Grant Holt, the big, bustling frontman, is on for Simeon Jackson in Norwich's first substitution.
67mins: After the ball rattles around the Newcastle box for a while, it eventually falls to Martin, the in-form Norwich defender, whose half-volley hits the post with Krul at full stretch. That's easily the closest we've been to a goal.
63mins: Russell Martin's long ball catches out the previously solid Newcastle defence and it takes a hurried clearance from Mike Williamson to take the ball off Snodgrass but the ball falls kindly for Pilkington, whose shot goes off target. At the other end, Marveaux carries the ball forward and unleashes a rising strike from 22 yards but it's too high to trouble Bunn.
46mins: Chris Hughton's Canaries get the second half underway with no changes for either side.
FIRST HALF UPDATES
45mins: With no stoppage time played, referee Anthony Taylor blows the half-time whistle in what has been a fairly nervy affair for the most part.
43mins: A Debuchy delivery falls to Obertan to strike from the edge of the box but he gets underneath the ball and sends it high into the Norwich and Peterborough Stand.
40mins: Pilkington cuts inside but blazes well over from 25 yards and after a bright spell in terms of chances, that's the closest either side has came to a goal for some time.
28mins: Javier Garrido delivers a good ball from the left and Snodgrass gets his head to it but, under pressure from Santon, can only nod straight at Tim Krul.
23mins: Sylvain Marveaux chips the ball over the top for Cisse, whose shot from the edge of the area is weak and dribbles into the arms of Bunn. It's hard to see this game staying goalless for much longer.
21mins: The Magpies lose the ball in the Norwich half and the Canaries break with three players onto two with Hoolahan at the heart of the move. However, Perch never gave up and got back superbly to nick the ball off the toe of the midfielder as he prepared to finish from 12 yards.
19mins: Simeon Jackson tries a shot from 25 yards as the ball breaks kindly for him but he spoons it well over.
17mins: Anita is involved in another Newcastle opening as he feeds the ball to Obertan, who goes for a shot on the turn from 20 yards and stings the palms of Bunn before the hosts clear their lines.
16mins: Now Gutierrez receives the ball on the left-hand corner of the box from Vurnon Anita and tries to curl a shot into the top corner but can't get his foot around the ball and it shanks behind for a goal kick. Norwich are looking a threat on the left through Anthony Pilkington and Wes Hoolahan but United are creating the best chances.
13mins: Gutierrez, back in the starting XI this afternoon, embarks upon a direct run on the left which takes him in between three men and he plays a low cross with the outside of his left boot which is just too firmly hit for Papiss Cisse, who was perhaps not quite on his toes.
8mins: Unlike at Brighton seven days ago, Newcastle have started this game full of energy and passion, snapping into tackles as both sides try to settle into the game in these early stages.
1min: Fabricio Coloccini leads Newcastle into battle against an out-of-form Norwich side who have lost their last four league matches and wins the toss, meaning the Magpies take kick-off through James Perch and Jonas Gutierrez and attack towards the Norwich and Peterborough Stand in the first period. Straight away, the ball it pinged out to Gabriel Obertan on the left but his low cross is gathered by Mark Bunn in the Canaries goal.
