Rob Elliot comes in for his first domestic start since September for today's FA Cup with Budweiser third round tie at Brighton and Hove Albion (kick-off 12.30pm).
The goalkeeper played at Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup third round and has also made three appearances in Europe, most recently the 2-0 defeat in Bordeaux.
James Tavernier, who will start at right-back at the Amex Stadium, is another player who has mainly appeared in cup competitions this term - three of his six appearances have came in the Europa League with another in the Capital One Cup.
However the rest of the defence - Mike Williamson, James Perch and Davide Santon - have been regulars in the Barclays Premier League this term.
Vurnon Anita, Gael Bigirimana and Mehdi Abeid will make up the midfield with Sammy Ameobi and Gabriel Obertan either side of main striker Shola Ameobi.
On the bench, defender Paul Dummett could make a senior debut for the club after returning from a successful loan spell with St. Mirren. Sylvain Marveaux, Adam Campbell, Nile Ranger, Romain Amalfitano and Shane Ferguson join Tim Krul as the other substitutes.
