Bradden Inman

It's now three goals in three Football League appearances for young midfielder Bradden Inman, who scored again for Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day.

But unlike the Aussie's previous two strikes, his latest wasn't enough to help his side gain another League One victory as they lost 2-1 to second-placed Tranmere.

Inman - who scored seven times in eight Barclays Under-21 Premier League appearances before heading out on loan last month - put his side in front at Prenton Park with a first-time finish from 12 yards.

But Adam McGurk and the wonderfully-named Max Power helped the men from the Wirrall back into the game as the Newcastle loanee played the whole game.

Paul Dummett missed his first match for St. Mirren as they drew 2-2 with Inverness Caledonian Thistle to continue their recent good form - the left-back had came off with cramp towards the end of their win over Motherwell last time out.

And Curtis Good was not involved as Bradford won at home to Accrington in League Two.

Blyth Spartans drew 2-2 with Whitby Town, with Michael Riley making his debut but Marcus Maddison not involved as ex-United youngster Ryan McGorrigan was on the scoresheet, while Workington's game at Harrogate was postponed meaning no action for JJ Hooper,
