Boss Hoping To End Redknapp's Rangers Run

Queens Park Rangers have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes since Harry Redknapp's arrival as manager but Alan Pardew hopes to halt them in their tracks

After securing their first win of the season against Fulham last weekend, Alan Pardew believes Queens Park Rangers have started to pick up some momentum in their fight against relegation - and he's determined to halt their four-game unbeaten run on Saturday.
Not only that, but he's looking for his Newcastle side to get up a head of steam of their own and, with away games at Manchester United and Arsenal next up, he knows the importance of three points against the resurgent R's.
But the visitors' form under new boss Harry Redknapp, who has yet to lose a game since taking over from Mark Hughes last month, suggests that they won't come easily.
"They've got some momentum and that's very important in the Premier League - something we've been searching for," said Pardew. "We had a little bit at the start of the season and it's kind of got away from us and it's momentum that carries you through in this league.
"So three draws and a win is perhaps more than Harry would have wished for when he went in there because it was a losing agenda up until then. He's done a good job.
"He's got good staff that have came in - experienced staff who know their roles and the team have definitely made an impact.
"But they're still coming to Newcastle and we're in decent form in terms of some of our play. We just need to have a little bit more resilience to stop conceding goals and I think we'll get results."
Last weekend's defeat to reigning champions Manchester City was Newcastle's sixth defeat in seven league games, leaving United in 15th place in the Barclays Premier League.
And Pardew admitted: "You're only as good as where you currently are and we're not very good at the minute in terms of the table so we need to improve.
"A win would go a long way this weekend and we need to just focus on that really. I think it's silly to look too far ahead.
"We have an important game on Saturday, our fans are going to be important, and we need to make sure that we put in a performance like we have in the last four which have been much, much better without perhaps getting the rewards we deserved."
