Lee Mason will take charge of Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night.
It is the first time this season that the 41-year-old has been appointed to a match involving the Magpies.
However, he was the man in the middle of this fixture last term, when Newcastle had a first-half lead but ended up on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline.
On that January afternoon, Mason awarded Fulham two penalties and booked four players - Davide Santon, Danny Guthrie, Danny Simpson and Tim Krul.
In total this season the Lancashire-based official has taken charge of 13 games, issuing 51 yellow cards and no reds.
Mason began refereeing in 1988, and after working his way up through the leagues, took charge of his first of his first Football League match in August 2002 - a Division Three fixture between Shrewsbury and Exeter.
He was appointed to the Premier League in 2006, and his top flight bow came in February of that year when Middlesbrough suffered a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Aston Villa.
On Monday at Craven Cottage, Mason will be assisted Dave Bryan and Simon Long, with Anthony Taylor the game's fourth official.
