Magpies Heading For Bordeaux

Written by Newcastle Utd

Find out who's in the squad for United's trip to Bordeaux in their final Europa League Group D fixture

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Newcastle United are jetting out to France ahead of Thursday night's final Europa League Group D fixture against Bordeaux (6pm kick-off).

Manager Alan Pardew has named a 20-man party for the match at the Stade Chaban Delmas, which blends youth and experience.

Striker Shola Ameobi - fit again following a recent hamstring injury - is on the plane, along with the likes of club captain Fabricio Coloccini, front man Papiss Cisse and full-back Danny Simpson.

At the other end of the spectrum is 17-year-old Adam Campbell, who became the Magpies' youngest European debutant when he featured against Atromitos in the competition's qualifying round, while there is also places for Mehdi Abeid, Gael Bigirimana and second string regulars Conor Newton, 21, and Yven Moyo, 20, who are both yet to make an appearance for United's first team.

As always, nufc.co.uk is the only place to come for in-depth coverage of United, be it at home or abroad.

Club Reporters Anthony Marshall and Dan King will bring fans previews, live text updates, reports and reaction from the fixture, with Club Photographer Ian Horrocks providing exclusive images all the way.

And Newcastle supporters should also stay tuned to nufcTV, as Video Reporter Rob Scanlon supplies the manager's pre-game press conference, post-match interviews and highlights exclusively for our subscribers.
