Newcastle youngster Paul Dummett helped St. Mirren through to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday, with a 2-0 home win against Brechin.
And there was a second successive clean-sheet for the Welsh under-21 international and his team-mates as the Scottish Premier League side beat their second division visitors.
Shut-outs have been like buses for the Buddies - they hadn't kept one since September until their midweek draw with Ross County but rarely looked like being breached by Brechin.
On his 14th appearance for the Saints, Dummett once again played the full 90 minutes.
But Bradden Inman is still waiting for his Crewe Alexandra debut. For the second week running, the Australian midfielder - who played for the League One side's under-21 side against Nottingham Forest in midweek - was an unused substitute as the Alex lost 1-0 at home to Burton in the second round of the FA Cup.
Former Magpies striker Calvin Zola got the only goal after five minutes.
Blyth Spartans were also defeated, but Marcus Maddison didn't figure as he prepared for Sunday morning's Barclays Under-21 Premier League clash against Aston Villa with his parent club.
