Loan Watch: Another Shut-Out For Dummett

Written by Newcastle Utd

St. Mirren kept their first clean sheet since September as Paul Dummett played another 90 minutes in the Scottish Premier League

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Paul Dummett helped St. Mirren keep their first clean sheet since September - and almost popped up at the other end with his first goal for the club as the Buddies drew 0-0 with Ross County.

The Saints ended their long winless run against Dundee on Saturday and showed further signs that they could be moving back in the right direction with a decent point at Victoria Park on Tuesday night.

With Dummett once again playing the full 90 minutes, County managed only one shot on target although Sam Morrow did hit the bar for the hosts.

But St. Mirren dominated the second half and Dummett was only denied by a good save from Mark Brown midway through the second half. Next up for the Paisley side is a Scottish Cup fourth round tie at home to Brechin at the weekend.

Blyth Spartans' game away to AFC Fylde was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, but work experience loanee Marcus Maddison was unavailable anyway as he'd stayed in Newcastle ahead of Wednesday's scheduled Northumberland FA Senior Cup quarter-final clash against Bedlington Terriers.

However, that has also now been postponed.
