Newcastle's leading scorer in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League, Bradden Inman, has joined League One side Crewe Alexandra on loan until 2nd January.

The Australian midfielder bagged his seventh goal of the campaign in this week's 2-2 second-string draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

But he has now headed to the Alexandra Stadium on a temporary basis in order to gain senior experience, having previously been on the first-team bench twice for the Magpies - at Manchester City in the top flight in 2009/09 and at Peterborough in the Carling Cup the following season.

Inman, 20, signed a new one-year contract at St. James' Park last summer and will hope to make his Crewe debut at home to Crawley on Saturday.

The youngster, who has been with United since the age of 14, told "I was buzzing when I found out I was going to Crewe on loan.

"I hope to play every game and just learn what proper football is because it's going to be a lot different to Reserve football - it means more and I'll be playing with and against experienced players now.

"So I'm going to learn a lot, and hopefully come back a better player."
