Alan Pardew was delighted with an important away point at Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday night.
And after the final whistle the boss was full of positives from a tough night's work.
"We faced a good side in Brugge who are managerless but got themselves together to prove a point, maybe," Pardew told nufcTV.
"We got caught cold and conceded two bad goals from our point of view, but we were magnificent after that and our fans were magnificent too.
"It was justice that we got the goals back because we created so many chances in that first half that we should have actually gone into the lead with Sylvain's chance. But overall I'm very pleased - I thought all the players played well.
"We were in control in the second half. They had a couple of set plays, a couple of breakaways, and nothing more than that.
"The point puts us in a great situation to qualify. We have Maritimo at home next and only have ourselves to kick if we can't win a home game at this level."
