A freakish downpour delayed Kyle Cameron's England debut, but there was no raining on the 15-year-old Newcastle defender's parade as the Young Lions beat Wales on Thursday night.
Both sets of players had to leave the pitch midway through the first half as the heavens opened in Port Talbot, but they were eventually able to return and complete the Sky Sports Victory Shield match.
And Cameron appeared as a half-time substitute for Kenny Swain's side, who were drawing 0-0 at the break but went on to win 1-0 thanks to Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke's goal.
Before that, the Magpies youngster had almost scored from a corner and he produced an assured display at centre-back as the home side rarely threatened to get behind the England backline.
Cameron made his debut for United's under-18 side in September's 1-0 win over Stoke and has since established himself as a regular under Dave Watson, a man who knows a good defender when he sees one.
The win was England's second of the competition, following on from a 5-0 success over Northern Ireland in which Magpies pair Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong both played.
