Young defender Paul Dummett is heading for Hampden Park after St. Mirren progressed to the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup with a penalty shoot-out win at Aberdeen.
The Buddies' league form has been poor of late but they won on spot-kicks after a 2-2 draw at Pittodrie on Tuesday night, with the 21-year-old Magpies man playing the full 120 minutes in his eighth appearance for the Paisley outfit.
Sam Parkin gave the Saints the lead but Scott Vernon equalised, only for Kenny McLean to put Dummett's team in front again. But in the 90th minute, Josh Magennis forced extra time where there were no further goals.
However, Danny Lennon's side earned a place in the last four and a fixture at Scotland's national stadium after a 4-2 win on penalties although Dummett - who was booked in the 97th minute - didn't step up.
And although the left-back's loan spell ends shortly before the semi-finals are due to be played on Saturday, 26th and Sunday, 27th January, he could yet extend his stay north of the border.
In the night's other quarter-final, Celtic beat St. Johnstone 5-0. Dundee United host Hearts on Wednesday while Rangers take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
