nufcTV: Best Bits From Brugge

Written by Newcastle Utd

Extended highlights from Newcastle United's 1-0 Europa League victory over Brugge on Thursday

It was another victorious European night on Tyneside on Thursday, as Newcastle United recorded a 1-0 win over Club Brugge.

The Magpies are now three points clear at the top of the Europa League's Group D, thanks to a second half cracker from Gabriel Obertan.

The pacey winger supplied an impressive run and finish just three minutes after the restart, having been teed up by some excellent individual work from Sammy Ameobi.

There may have only been one goal, but that doesn't mean the tie was lacking action.

Papiss Cisse was twice denied by Brugge keeper Bojan Jorgacevic, who did brilliantly to keep out the striker's early powerful header and half-volley on the stroke of half-time.

Ameobi also posed a constant threat, with his direct running and trickery, while fellow youngster Shane Ferguson's crossing was again at the highest level.

Brugge had their chances too, with Carlos Bacca somehow heading a simple chance over the bar from close range, and wide man Maxime Lestienne trying his luck from distance.

And if you want to re-live it all over again then we are giving you the chance to do just that. To watch extended highlights from Thursday night's victory, click here.
