Five Newcastle United players have been called up for international duty later this month.

On Friday, 12th October, Cabaye's France entertain Japan in Paris in friendly action, just four days before Les Bleus travel to Spain to take on the World and European champions in a World Cup qualifier.

Vuckic will be hoping to build on his one senior cap for Slovenia as they face a double header of World Cup qualifiers.

First up is a home tie against Cyprus in Maribor, followed on Tuesday, 16th October, by a trip to Albania where they will play at the Qemal Stafa Stadium, in Tirana.

Magpies fans are certain to have one eye on the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Senegal and Ivory Coast in Dakar on Saturday, 13th October.

Strike duo Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba have been named in a youthful Lions of Teranga squad, which is hoping to overturn a 4-2 first-leg deficit.

And in the opposing party is Cheick Tiote, who will be attempting to lead the Elephants to January's tournament at the expense of his Tyneside teammates.

Meanwhile, summer signing Curtis Good will travel to Portugal for a training camp with the Australia Under 20 squad, and youngster Alex Nicholson is part of the Wales Under 19 set-up which will play three matches in Slovenia.
