Loan Watch: Early Present For Dummy

Written by Newcastle Utd

Paul Dummett turns 21 this week and celebrated with a clean sheet and a win in his third appearance for St. Mirren

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Ahead of his 21st birthday on Wednesday, on-loan defender Paul Dummett got an early present - a second win and a second clean sheet in his third appearance for St. Mirren.

The left-back, who is with the Buddies until January, started against Hamilton in the Scottish Communities League Cup third round tie at St. Mirren Park.

Extra-time was looming with the sides drawing 0-0 after 90 minutes, despite a dangerous cross from Dummett in the 38th minute which almost broke the deadlock.

But with virtually the last kick of the evening, Lee Mair scored in the second minute of stoppage time to give the Saints a place in the quarter-finals at the expense of their First Division opponents.

Dummett and his temporary team are next in action on Saturday when they host Ross County in the Scottish Premier League.
