Alan Pardew is looking for his Newcastle United side to build some Premier League momentum, continuing on Sunday against Norwich.
After a slow start to their previous match at Everton, the Magpies roared into life in the second half at Goodison Park, twice coming from behind to salvage a draw - and could have even taken all three points.
Boss Pardew believes that display has done his troops the world of good, and is now keen for them to take it on another step against the Canaries on Tyneside.
"Momentum in this division is critical, and we haven't set the world alight this year," he explained.
"We haven't yet reached the dizzy heights that we did last year in our performance levels.
"But that doesn't mean we're not far away - because I don't think we are - and we have four or five of our best players coming into form a little bit.
"Demba found his feet at Everton, Cabaye found his feet in that second half, and suddenly we have a few of them looking like they are ready to go. Hopefully the team will follow."
Pardew added: "We are looking a lot better this Sunday.
"I think the spirit has definitely improved after the second half at Everton.
"We are well set for this game and well set for the next few games."
