Squad Named For Tweed Trip

Written by Newcastle Utd

Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley have included a trialist in their squad for Friday's friendly at Berwick

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

A trialist is set to figure for Newcastle United Reserves as they take on Berwick Rangers in a Friday night friendly at Shielfield Park.

The unnamed forward is included in Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's second-string squad for the match, which is open to the public.

Adam Campbell is the only player with first-team experience to be involved while Bradden Inman will play after hitting a hat-trick in the Magpies' 5-1 Barclays Under-21 Premier League win at Stoke on Monday.

Summer signing Curtis Good is likely to be partnered by 16-year-old Lubo Satka at centre-back while 15-year-old Adam Armstrong - who recently attended an England under-16 training camp - travels with the Reserves for the first time.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm and admission to the game is by paying on the gate.

Prices are £8 for adults and £4 for juniors. Berwick are also hoping to have a mini-programme on sale.

The squad is: Jak Alnwick, Jonathan Mitchell, Alex Nicholson, Michael Riley, Lubo Satka, Curtis Good, Ryan McKinnon, Conor Newton, Steven Logan, Michael Richardson, Bradden Inman, Dennis Knight, Adam Campbell, Trialist, Alex Gilliead, Adam Armstrong.
