United's new fluo-lime third/European kit has already been hugely popular with fans since it went on sale on Thursday morning - and it's also gone down a storm with the players, who will wear it for the first time against Atromitos.
Normally black and white shirts hang in the home dressing room at the Sports Direct Arena but against the Greek side the stylish change strip will come under the limelight.
And the lads are looking forward to showcasing it to the Gallowgate crowd - hopefully the first of many European nights where the shirt will be worn.
Ryan Taylor, who scored Newcastle's crucial away goal at the Peristeri Stadium last week, modelled the strip ahead of its release and declared himself a fan.
"It'll be different at home, to wear a European strip, but I like it," he said.
"I thought it was going to be a lot brighter when I first saw a few photos of it, but after seeing it up close and having it on, it's nice - and it looks nice as a whole kit."
Team-mate Dan Gosling saw the shirt for the first time this week and said: "It's nice, I like it. It's a bit different but I think it's really nice."
Vurnon Anita, meanwhile, has proudly pulled on the orange of the Dutch national team and hopes the new kit will herald a bright future for the Magpies.
"I'm looking forward to wearing it for the first time," he said. "It's a new shirt and I'll be happy to wear it.
"I think we'll be able to see each other very well and it matches my boots, so that's good for me!
"It's different but it's a nice colour for on the pitch. We can see each other very well, and maybe it'll blind the opposition!"
