Fancy A Flutter Against Chelsea?

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle United's Official Betting Partner, Bet Butler, provides Magpies fans with some tips ahead of Saturday's match

After beating Spurs last weekend, Newcastle United face another stern test against fellow top six rivals Chelsea this Saturday (5.30pm kick-off).

Alan Pardew's side pipped Chelsea by a single point last season, but Official Betting Partner Bet Butler make the Magpies outsiders at 6/1, with Chelsea favourites at 1/5.

Chelsea have lost just one of their last ten home games, but that loss just happened to come against Newcastle last May. This defeat was Chelsea's only ever home defeat against United in the Premier League.

The odds favour Chelsea, but Newcastle are unlikely to go down without a fight. The Magpies were level at the break in half their away games last year, including three out of six games facing top six teams.

In addition, 12 of the 16 league meetings between these teams since 2003/04 have been level at half-time. Half-time draw can be backed at 6/4.

Half Time Draw/ Full Time Chelsea at 17/5 could offer some consolation if Newcastle fail to upset the odds.

It should be an entertaining match, though as nine of United's last 15 away games have had at least four goals. Four or more match goals can be backed at 7/4.

Newcastle lost by at least two goals in five out of nine trips to top six teams least season, but they failed to score just once. Both teams to score looks a nice banker at 4/5.

Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba are again the mostly likely scorers for the Toon, but Cisse has the better record away from home, scoring six goals in his six away games last season. Cisse can be backed at 9/1 to score first, but Ba to score any time is hard to ignore at 7/2.
