Magpies fans travelling to their club's Barclays Premier League clash at Chelsea have been warned that trains heading back from the capital on Saturday evening have been designated as dry.

No alcohol will be permitted on all East Coast Mainline services departing from London King's Cross to Newcastle and London King's Cross to Leeds between the hours of 17.30 and 22.00.

It is an offence under Byelaw 4 (2) of the Railway Byelaws, for any person travelling on the services listed above to be in possession of intoxicating liquor or to attempt to enter any of the affected trains with intoxicating liquor.

This does not effect Hull Trains and Grand Central services.
