Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley's second-string will have to wait a little longer to build on their 6-4 opening day victory over Tottenham after their next scheduled game against Southampton was rearranged.
The Magpies were due to take on the Saints in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League on Bank Holiday Monday, 27th August, but the visitors have requested a new date.
And so the match will now be played on Friday, 14th September with a kick-off time of 7pm.
Whitley Park, the home of the Northumberland FA in Benton, will remain as the venue.
The next competitive Reserve fixture is now away to Stoke on Monday, 3rd September. Kick-off is 7.30pm at the Britannia Stadium.
