Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and his England under-17s team-mates finished runners-up in the Nordic Tournament after losing to Sweden in the final over the weekend.
But the 15-year-old Magpies prospect - who did not play in Saturday's final - kept clean sheets in both of his two appearances in the competition, held in the Faroe Islands.
Woodman was one of two keepers in Kenny Swain's squad and helped England to a 2-0 win over the hosts in the first game before sitting out of a 4-2 victory against Finland the following day.
Another shut-out came for the United starlet in a 0-0 draw with Norway but the rotation policy meant he was only on the bench against the Swedes as the young Lions were beaten 2-0.
Meanwhile, Newcastle Academy players Adam Armstrong and James Atkinson linked up with the England under-16 squad on Monday morning. They were selected for a four-day training camp at Warwick University, ahead of the annual Victory Shield tournament.
