Dutch top-flight side Roda JC Kerkrade has confirmed the signing of ex-Magpies defender Tamas Kadar on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old has signed a two-year deal with an option for another year at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion after he was released by Newcastle this summer.
Joining United from Zalaegerszegi TI in his homeland of Hungary in January 2008, Kadar overcame a broken leg sustained in a Reserve match against Sunderland to feature prominently in the Coca-Cola Championship winning side of 2009/10.
However, he continued to be affected by injury during his time on Tyneside, with a loan spell at Huddersfield cut short after just two games last term, and he was not offered a new contract by Alan Pardew at the end of the campaign.
