Tim Krul

Tim Krul starts against his former side as Newcastle take on ADO Den Haag in friendly action this afternoon (5pm kick-off local time).

The goalkeeper swapped his boyhood team for Tyneside in 2005, aged 17, and has gone on to establish himself as United's number one and a regular in the Dutch national squads.

And it will be an emotional homecoming for Krul, who Magpies boss Alan Pardew has named in between the sticks at the Kyocera Stadium.

He will line up behind an experienced back four of Ryan Taylor, Steven Taylor, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Davide Santon, as Newcastle look to continue an impressive set of pre-season results.

Cheick Tiote and Haris Vuckic will patrol the engine room, with Gabriel Obertan and Jonas Gutierrez providing creativity on either flank, and the prolific Senegalese front duo of Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba will lead the line.

Every other player who has travelled to Holland for this fixture will make up the substitutes' bench, including summer signings Gael Bigirimana and Romain Amalfitano.
