The Magpies began their friendlies on Friday with a 1-0 defeat to German third division side Chemnitzer.

Once a big name in French football, Monaco currently ply their trade in the second tier and have appointed Claudio Ranieri as their new manager.

The third friendly fixture will be on Saturday, 21st July, against Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Later in July, Newcastle travel to Portugal to compete in the Guadiana Torneo, in the Algarve Stadium, near Faro, before jetting out to Holland at the start of August to face ADO Den Haag.
