Alan Pardew insists United's brightest young talents will have a big part to play in the 2012/13 campaign.
With European football on the horizon it could mean plenty more games for the Magpies' squad, who will also have FA Cup and Capital One Cup commitments on top of the Barclays Premier League.
Manager Pardew is well aware it could be a gruelling season, but is confident Newcastle have strength in depth to cope and has tipped a number of youthful stars to breakthrough and make a real name for themselves.
"We've got some great young players here who haven't seen too much football," he explained.
"We're going to be leaning on the likes of Haris Vuckic, Shane Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi a lot more than we did last year.
"Mehdi (Abeid) as well, who hasn't really played too much, so those extra games I'm looking forward to because we've got a great underbelly of young players here who need games.
"I want us to be a tight ship and to utilise everyone we have at the Club."
