Six of Newcastle's Premier League fixtures have been chosen for live broadcast in the first part of the season.
ESPN have chosen to show United's first two games of the season, starting with the home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at the Sports Direct Arena, and then the Magpies' trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea the following week.
Sky Sports have selected away fixtures at Everton, Sunderland and Liverpool, as well as the home clash with Manchester United.
The 2012/13 season begins with Spurs at home on Saturday, 18th August, which will now kick-off at 5.30pm and not the original time of 3pm. United's visit to Chelsea on Saturday, 25th August, is also a 5.30pm kick-off.
The trip to Everton will now be a Monday night affair. It was due to be played on Saturday, 15th September, but will instead be played on Monday, 17th September, with an 8pm kick-off.
Manchester United at home has been rearranged from Saturday, 6th October, to the following day (Sunday, 7th October) with a 4pm kick-off, while unsurprisingly the Tyne-Wear derby later that month will also be broadcast live. That match, at the Stadium of Light, will now be on Sunday, 21st October, kicking-off at 1.30pm.
Finally, Newcastle's visit to Anfield - the scene of some memorable matches against Liverpool over the years - will also take place on a Sunday. It was due to be played on Saturday, 3rd November, but will now kick-off at 4pm on Sunday, 4th November.
In addition to the live broadcasts, two other fixtures have also been moved.
The Magpies' home game against Aston Villa will now be played on Sunday, 2nd September, kicking off at 4pm, but will not be televised.
This fixture has been moved from Saturday to Sunday as a result of the Club's UEFA Europa League play-off second leg match, which will take place on Thursday, 30th August.
And the second Tyne-Wear derby match of the campaign - at home against Sunderland, will remain on Saturday, 13th April, but with a earlier kick-off time of 1.30pm at the request of Northumbria Police.
Supporters will notice that our fixture against Chelsea remains scheduled for Saturday, 23rd August, with our Europa League fourth qualifying round fixture on the preceding Thursday (23rd August).
Prior to the TV selections being made, and in accordance with normal procedure, the Club made an application to move the Chelsea game to Sunday, 26th August. Unfortunately the Metropolitan Police refused this request on the basis of other scheduled activities in and around London at this time.
The Club and the Premier League subsequently made representations to UEFA to request that our Europa League match be moved from the Thursday to the Wednesday in order to avoid the team having to play two games in three days. UEFA unfortunately rejected this request.
Season tickets for the 2012/13 campaign are now on sale and are the only way to guarantee your seat for every home game.
