Leon Best has completed his transfer to Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
The striker, aged 25, has signed a four-year deal at Ewood Park and will drop down a division to try and help fire Rovers out of the Championship at the first attempt.
Best joined Newcastle in February 2010 from Coventry and made 46 appearances, scoring 10 goals, during his spell on Tyneside.
He netted a memorable hat-trick against West Ham in January 2011 - his maiden Premier League goals - and his final strike in the black and white shirt came in January 2012, with a fine individual effort to see off Queens Park Rangers.
Best missed the final three months of last season having suffered a medial ligament damage during United's victory over Aston Villa.
