Former Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy has been included in the Team GB Olympic football squad for London 2012.

Bellamy, who made 128 appearances, scoring 43 goals, for the Magpies between 2001 and 2005, is one of three permitted over-age players in the Under 23 squad. The other two are Manchester City defender Micah Richards and Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs.

Now plying his trade at Liverpool, Bellamy is one of five Welshmen in the squad, which is also made up of 13 English players. Manager Stuart Pearce has not selected any Scots or Northern Irish.

Team GB kick off their campaign at Old Trafford against Senegal on 26th July, play the United Arab Emirates at Wembley on 29th July, before their final group fixture against Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium on 1st August.
