Hundreds of nufcTV subscribers have been voting for their 2011/12 Reserve and Under 18 Goal of the Season, and we can now reveal the winner.

That honour goes to midfielder Mehdi Abeid, for a stunning long-range strike away at York in a friendly last October (Goal 9).

Abeid netted twice on that afternoon at Bootham Crescent - both impressive - but it was his first of the game which won your vote, as the youngster let fly from distance with a shot which flew into the top corner.

Runner-up was Patrick Nzuzi (Goal 4), with an eye-catching solo effort against Bedlington in the Sage Northumberland FA Senior Cup, while Michael Richardson's curled shot to finish off a fine team move (Goal 7) came third in the opinions of our panel of experts.

We have been inundated with votes, and picked one at random which matched our top three selection to win a new Newcastle United away shirt. The winner was Stephen Howlett - congratulations!
