Demba Ba

Newcastle United will play away from home once again on Boxing Day next season - the ninth time in the last ten seasons they have done so.

The Magpies travel to Manchester United for the traditional festive match, in a repeat of the 1995/96 campaign, when goals from Roy Keane and ex-Magpie Andy Cole gave the Red Devils all three points.

However, it was a different story when the sides met last term, with Newcastle earning an impressive draw at Old Trafford thanks to a Demba Ba penalty, which cancelled out Javier Hernandez's fortuitous strike.

Boxing Day fixtures haven't been too rewarding for United during the Premier League era, with the Magpies only picking up three victories from 17 festive outings - the most recent though was last season when Alan Pardew's men won 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium, with Hatem Ben Arfa and Demba Ba grabbing the goals.
